In 1988, Ali made her big screen debut in the film Crocodile Dundee II. Ali's presence also was felt on TV screens. Ali appeared in numerous TV shows including A Man Called Hawk and Wally and the Valentines, The Cosby Show and Getting By, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Kidz In the Wood and Living Single. Ali's biggest breakthrough was when she brought Ashley Banks to life on the hit TV show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1990. The series, which featured Will Smith as the star it was a huge hit. It was the most watched show on NBC which ranked 12th in the programming from 1990 to 1992. Additionally, the show would go on to receive two famous Golden Globe nominations.
