Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television host in America and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network star with her trademark spikey blonde hair and exuberant personality, shares easy methods to master and removes the fear of eating at restaurants in her series Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell also has worked in several of the city's most prestigious establishments, learned about Italian food, its culture and traditions and has participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking at a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her after she graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic experience. I could not be more educated or accomplished in my studies. After graduating, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. She gained a deeper knowledge of Italian food and culture while in Italy that has informed her cooking style. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children living with obstacles and is also an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she is an advocate for children with diabetes and awareness. As an inspirational speaker, she is on the road to speak about her passion for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne in all her culinary journey has stated that it's a pleasure to be in a position to share her passion for the food industry with people.
